Rehabilitation Services

An important aspect of resident care is improving functional independence in areas such as mobility and eating, by maximizing strength, coordination, and safety awareness.  Upon physician referral, rehabilitative therapy programs are administered by Bellhaven's expert rehabilitation team, utilizing modern equipment in two distinct, fully equipped Physical and Occupational Therapy treatment areas.

Medical Services

Our Board Certified Internist/Gerontologist Medical Director and staff physicians administer quality medical services around the clock.  Dental Services are provided with ease and comfort with our fully equipped dental examination room and wheelchair lift.  In addition, Podiatry, Ophthalmology, Speech Therapy, X-Ray, and Laboratory services are also available as needed.

Nursing Services

We foster a family atmosphere at Bellhaven, and we see each of our residents as individual members of our family - each with individual strengths and needs.  Our 160-plus member Nursing Staff, comprised of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Certified Nursing Assistants, take great pride in the excellent 24 hours a day care rendered with kindness and compassion to our residents.

Social Services

Bellhaven's team of Social Workers provide advocacy, assessments of psychosocial needs, assistance with financial matters, and one-to-one contact.  Our caring Social Workers are available to meet the needs of the residents and to address family concerns.  In addition, Bellhaven's Social Workers facilitate various support groups within the facility which further provide a sense of comfort and well-being amongst our residents and families alike.

Recreational Therapy

Our dynamic Recreational Therapy Staff provides comprehensive therapeutic leisure time services 7 days a week to facilitate the development, maintenance, and expression of a satisfying lifestyle.  From the self-expression of crafts and creative writing, to reminiscing about the joys of home and family through cooking and gardening, residents at Bellhaven are encouraged to spend their leisure time hours in a meaningful and constructive way.  In addition, our spacious, 24 foot wheelchair accessible bus allows residents the freedom to participate in community excursions to local restaurants, shopping, the theatre, and scenic day trips.  Fun-filled special events, such as parties and theme days, round out our Recreational Therapy program.

Delightful Dining

Good nutrition plays an integral role in promoting and maintaining our residents optimal health.  To meet this challenge, the Dietetic Services Department provides individualized, well-balanced, attractive meals.  Adding to the home-like atmosphere, Bellhaven's in-house bakery prepares fresh rolls, muffins, and pastries daily a a tasty addition to our delicious therapeutic diets.

Alzheimer's Unit

Bellhaven's self-contained Alzheimer's treatment unit provides a safe and secure living environment for those afflicted with Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia-related illnesses.  Our specially trained and caring staff provide needed assistance with activities of daily living, while promoting each resident's optimal independence.  Features of our Alzheimer's Unit include recreational, dining and walking areas.

Adult Day Care - Medical Model

A unique feature of Bellhaven is a comprehensive, medical model Adult Day Care Center.  From health care monitoring to promoting an environment for socialization, our Adult Day Care program provides a wide variety of services.  The Adult Day Care program benefits caregivers by providing them a time of respite with the peace of mind knowing that their loved one is in a safe and supervised environment.  During the course of each day, participants enjoy a continental breakfast and a hot, nutritious midday meal, a well as a multitude of stimulating recreational activities.  Transportation is available for those in need.

Housekeeping and Maintenance

Our Housekeeping and Maintenance Staffs provide daily services that maintain the highest standards for our residents' living environment. In addition, we provide in-house laundry facilities to accommodate your loved one's personal clothing needs.

Look Good, Feel Good

Bellhaven's fully equipped Beauty Parlor and Barber Shop fulfills a special niche in our residents' care by providing them with one-to-one contact while tending to their salon needs.

Community Ties

Working with religious and civic organizations, local schools, and caring individuals, Bellhaven's Volunteer Coordinator provides residents continued contact with community members.
